Why We Make MINT in Small Batches
HOW WE OPERATE
Trona Labs is an early-stage company, and we’re still finding product-market fit for MINT. We are not trying to pretend otherwise.
That means starting slowly, paying attention to what our customers think, and making sure people like the product before we make a lot more of it.
“A product does not become better because a company decides to make more of it.”
We’re still small on purpose — building slowly before we build big.
Small batch is where we are — and how we want to build
For us, small batch is both a reality of being early and a deliberate choice. We want to build smart before we build big. We want to know that MINT is finding a real place in people’s routines before producing at larger volume.
That requires patience. It requires listening to what customers like, what gives them pause, and whether MINT is actually earning a spot on their bathroom counter. A product does not become better because a company decides to make more of it, or foist it on every potential customer with tons of marketing dollars.
The goal is not everyone
Building smart also means reaching the right people.
MINT will be a good fit for some people and not for others. That is especially true of a baking-soda-based deodorant, which is not right for every skin type. We are upfront about that, and we always will be. We want to improve the lives of people for whom MINT works, and ensure that people who won’t like our product either won’t buy it, or get a refund and are satisfied that we treated them fairly at all times.
This company exists to find the customers who are genuinely looking for what MINT is: a baking-soda-based natural stick deodorant that does what other natural deodorants can’t do. Those are the people whose feedback matters most as we learn what works, what needs explaining, and how to grow responsibly.
Why moving slowly matters
At this stage, we would rather have a smaller number of customers who really like MINT than produce at a larger scale before we have earned that confidence.
That gives us room to keep learning without turning every decision into a much bigger one than it needs to be. If we need to tweak the recipe, we will. If we need to craft very tailored marketing, we will. We believe in this product, but we are listening carefully to the market, batch by batch, and we promise to continue to improve.
Our approach keeps us accountable. If you buy MINT once, we’re pleased. But our focus is on finding loyal repeat customers who trust that we want what they want. We’re not in business to get you to buy our product once. We’re here to make it so you never have to think about deodorant again.
Small batch is a practical way to keep our ear to the ground as Trona Labs finds its footing.
Some things are worth doing slowly.
