How to Properly Test Whether MINT Works for You
REAL-WORLD TEST
“The real test of a deodorant is whether it holds up when you actually sweat.”
Put it to the test outside, in real life. That’s where it counts.
Any deodorant can handle a normal, low-key day. We built MINT to handle the hard ones. MINT performs when the sun is out, your heart rate is up, and your underarms are doing what underarms do.
If you want an honest answer about MINT, give it an honest test.
Start with the right amount
Before you plan the sweaty part, make sure you’re not skewing the result with too much or too little product. Apply MINT to clean, dry underarms, using one or two swipes per side.
That is the quick version. Our post on how much to use goes into the why, but the important part here is simple: keep the application consistent. A fair test needs a fair starting line.
Make it a day that actually counts
Apply MINT in the morning, then go about a normal-to-active day. Better yet, choose something that gets you genuinely sweating on purpose:
- Run a mile or two.
- Give a stressful presentation at work.
- Swim or surf in a body of water.
- Work a long shift on your feet.
- Golf in high heat or humidity.
- Do whatever your version of “I definitely broke a sweat” looks like.
You don’t need to turn your deodorant trial into an endurance event. We just want you to put MINT through its paces. This product does fine indoors, with the air conditioner going strong. But we designed it to thrive when you are moving and stressed and sweaty.
MINT is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant, and it isn’t meant to stop you from sweating or block your sweat glands. The question is whether it continues addressing body odor while you live your life, sweat included.
Don’t check at lunch. Check the next morning.
The most useful test takes longer than a few hours. Put MINT on in the morning, go about your day, go to bed as usual, and check the following morning. How do you smell?
That gives you a full day plus overnight to see whether odor has broken through. It is a much more honest measure than a quick mid-afternoon sniff check, especially if the day gave the formula a real workout.
Separate the minty scent from the real test
MINT has a minty scent that people like. We sure love it. But the pleasant scent is not the point of the test, and it is not supposed to simply cover anything up.
The real question is how long body odor stays away before it comes back. That is where MINT is meant to earn its place in your routine: not by pretending sweat does not happen, but by addressing odor for the long stretch of a real day and the night after it.
Try it under conditions that are honest for you, then judge it on the result, not just on how it smells right after you apply it. A deodorant should be allowed to work for its verdict.
The best real-world tests happen outside. Stick optional.
